Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
POSSIBLE was challenged with making the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center engaging and illuminating, while allowing visitors to connect both with the foundation and the complex, vital issues its founders are dedicated to tackling. Ultimately, our goal was to design exhibits that would inspire visitors’ own passions and potential as philanthropists.
We helped create 14 unique interactive experiences, which together underpin a journey that connects visitors to their own ability to improve the world. POSSIBLE’s interactive digital complements the center’s physical exhibits, creating a holistic aesthetic. To achieve this integrated display, POSSIBLE designed a number of custom-made physical controls that blur the boundaries between digital and the handcrafted physical architecture of the Visitor Center.
A visitor’s experience culminates in the Innovation and Inspiration Gallery, where visitors can apply their unique skills and creativity, and connect with their philanthropic potential. The Visitor Center welcomed thousands of people in 2012, inspired remarkable and diverse creativity among visitors, and won Seattle Magazine’s Best Kids Edutainment.
